Personal: 50; married 28 years to the same great guy, and two grown daughters who work with me every day in our family business.
Occupation: owner of Breathe, a yoga studio in Pittsford.
Community activities: I am an active fund-raiser for many local and global community organizations. We're very committed to a group called "Off the Mat, Into the World." This organization challenges the national yoga community to take the great feeling one gets in a yoga class and give it to the world in terms of community service by raising funds for world good. I love being a connector of good things and good people – I have an amazing opportunity to do that under my own roof at Breathe.
My favorite thing to do in Rochester: Every Saturday morning my husband and I have a date. We go to the Public Market and then out for coffee at Java’s. It is our time to catch up on the week.
Biggest challenge I’ve overcome and how I did it: Fear. I guess it is probably a universal challenge – Do I know enough? Can I take the risk? I overcame it by just saying “Yes”.
One thing I’ve always wanted to do but never have: I have always wanted to sky dive but somehow haven’t gotten around to it.
If I could change one thing about myself it would be: If I had answered this question years ago I probably would have had a long list. Thinking of it now, there is nothing I would change. I am perfectly imperfect.
The talent I would most like to have: No question – I wish I could sing! I have a terrible singing voice but it doesn’t stop me from trying.
The one thing I can’t live without: Ouch…can I really only choose one? My family, travel, my dog Mary Ann, my morning ritual of an acai breakfast bowl and cup of green tea.
The song that best describes my life: Day by Day from the musical Godspell. I play it in my yoga class sometimes. It really shows my age, but I’m okay with that.

Actress I’d like to portray me in a movie about my life: Probably a no-name actress who surprises everyone with her ambition and passion.
