Heather Smith

Personal: 37, of Ontario; married 15 years to my best friend, Harold. One adorable daughter, Sydney, age 3.

Occupation: Sales Manager at Financial Architects/MassMutual.

Community activities: Rochester Women’s Network, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Women in Financial Services, and National Association of Professional Women. I am past president of my local BNI chapter. I'm actively pursuing potential leadership roles at YWCA and am an advocate for women and their children.

My favorite thing to do in Rochester: Frontier Field for Red Wings Games and GEVA.

Biggest challenge I’ve overcome and how I did it: Relocating to Rochester from Westchester County at the pinnacle of my career and having to start from scratch building my sales team. I became a professional “netweaver” and got to know as many folks as possible on a professional and personal basis.

One thing I’ve always wanted to do but never have: Start a charitable foundation to benefit women and children.

If I could change one thing about myself it would be: I would allow myself to relax more instead rushing through each day and trying to fit in so many things at once.

The talent I would most like to have: To be athletic. I love to play sports, especially softball, but I was not blessed with natural ability.

The one thing I can’t live without: My family and coffee.

The song that best describes my life: I’m Coming Out, by Diana Ross.

One of my favorite sayings is: Every day is a new day. Make it count!

Actress I’d like to portray me in a movie about my life: Susan Sarandon.
