Danielle Powers

Personal: 31, of Victor; single.

Occupation: General Manager/Recruiter, The Employment Store.

Community activities: Board of Directors for National Human Resource Association, Rochester affiliate; NextGen (Young Professionals Giving Circle) where I serve on the Marketing and Membership Committee; active with, and advocate for, Veteran’s Outreach Center, ABVI, RochesterWorks! (assisting in work force development and job coaching and assisting in working with small businesses on hiring practices).

My favorite thing to do in Rochester: I love the great restaurants in Rochester and the local businesses who create great food and baked goods. I love walking and hiking the various trails in and around the area.

Biggest challenge I’ve overcome and how I did it: Learning how to manage and cultivate a team. I have a ways to go, but it has been a fun, interesting challenge that has pushed me personally and professionally. I have learned more about myself through managing others than through anything else I have done in my career thus far.

One thing I’ve always wanted to do but never have: Be on the Food Network or be published.

If I could change one thing about myself it would be: I’ve got time left in my life to improve on all the little things that make each of us better social and corporate citizens in life.

The talent I would most like to have: I would like to have some musical talent of any sort, whether it be the ability to play an instrument or sing. I would settle for having rhythm at all!

The one thing I can’t live without: Good food, great company – my family and friends!

My favorite movie: I love anything with Vince Vaughn. He is so funny! Then again, I am a sucker for sweet and sappy.

One of my favorite sayings is: Tell me more about that.

A person who has inspired me (and why): Wow, there are so many. Both of my parents are incredibly driven, smart, independent people who have made me who I am, and the VP of the company I work for, Brian Keenan, has been a great mentor and someone who has given me room to grow and prosper in my career. Dealing with a creative and independent individual who can be a bit stubborn (like myself) is never easy, and to help foster and view those characteristics as talents is something not everyone can or is willing to do.
