Personal: 48, of Rochester; single.
Occupation: ITT Space Systems Division/ Ethics and Compliance Coordinator.
Community activities: Board Member of Family Services of Rochester and active member of Pentecostal Miracle Deliverance Center Church.
My favorite thing to do in Rochester: Traveling, dinning and shopping with family and friends.
Biggest challenge I’ve overcome and how I did it: The decision to continue my education as well as work full time, and at one time I worked various shifts. I made a decision that I had a goal in mind I wanted to accomplished. With the help of family, friends, prayer and my church family, I was able to accomplish both my graduate and undergraduate degrees. It also entailed a lot of hard work and discipline.
One thing I’ve always wanted to do but never have: Play the organ.
If I could change one thing about myself it would be: To be comfortable with public speaking.
The talent I would most like to have: Designing and sewing my own clothes.
The one thing I can’t live without: Christ, prayer and family.
My favorite movie: “Imitation of Life”.
One of my favorite sayings is: "Do what you have to do, so you can do what you want to do.”
A person who has inspired me (and why): My mother. My mother is seventh in a family of 14 brothers and sisters. She would often tell my sister and I of her upbringing and the barriers and struggles they overcame. She spoke of how her parents instilled in them the faith of God. Through strong family they were able to overcome it all, which today is one of the reasons she is such a strong woman. Because of her and my father’s prayers, encouragement and support, I decided to continue my education until I received my master’s degree in May of 2008.
