Andrea Sands of Brighton is a spa owner, aesthetician and an artist.
|
Personal: 46, of Brighton. “Just married.Very happily married” to Sky Sands.
Occupation: Spa owner/aesthetican.
Community activities: Create and donate artwork for the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester, and organize clothing drives for the Rochester’s Shelter for Battered Women.
My favorite thing to do in Rochester: I like going to the different art galleries, attending artistic events, as well being an active participant in Rochester’s art community.
Biggest challenge I’ve overcome and how I did it: Taking the knowledge that I have learned pertaining to skin care and body therapy and learning how to manage a business so that it would continue to grow and prosper. I went to several schools both in and out of the country to learn about skin and body therapies, but had not sought out an education strictly on management until I opened the business.
One thing I’ve always wanted to do but never have: Meet my birth parents.
If I could change one thing about myself it would be: That I’m only able to speak one language.
The talent I would most like to have: To read music and play the piano.
The one thing I can’t live without: Love.
My favorite movie: The Godfather Saga
One of my favorite sayings is: “Yes, you can!”
A person who has inspired me (and why): My husband. He has always encouraged me to pursue my artistic passion, as well as to open a successful, unique day spa. He sees things and qualities in me that I tend to overlook.
