Are you making the same mistakes this summer?
How well do you know yourself?
Anticipating your areas of weakness is crucial for weight loss. Don't put yourself in a situation that you know will be difficult to resist the urge to overindulge or sabotage your progress. I find this is the very reason people fail in weight loss, they are not being truthful with themselves and then in the moment make a poor choice then beat themselves up for it later. Make a list of what gets you into trouble during the summer. Then decided what you can do to manage what you can, prevent potential set backs and plan to be proactive. These strategies will make all of the difference in keeping weight off.
For example, I more than likely won't exercise after 5:00pm because I would rather go out and do something that will be outdoors. I get up early to either go for a power walk with my hand weights or workout. In the past when I worked in a building that had a gym within it, I would schedule 20 minutes per day to do a mini workout with weights. I would alternate arms, legs, etc, I was in great shape that summer, because I didn't miss a day during the week. I knew once I left the building to go home, I wouldn't go back. I would rather play with my family and go out in the sun.
If you need suggestions, ask me, maybe I can help with some suggestions.
Four days until summer begins, how have you been preparing for it's arrival? Life is busy, if have to carve out time for you. No one will come along and do it for you. If you step back and look at your life, how you schedule your day, ask yourself "do I have the space in my life for what I SAY I want?" Even if you are not working out right now, block out 30 minutes a day for it and start giving your subconscious mind permission as well as opportunity to make exercise a priority.
I did this with my business, when I used to complain that I needed more clients, I would look at my appointment book and ask "when would I have time for them?" I was that busy living my daily life. Then I would block out 9:00 am to 3:00 pm three days per week for clients and the funny thing is that the time always would be filled up, either with clients, speaking engagements, a lunch and learn, etc.
Create time now for you to focus on your health this summer, schedule the time today.
